State players Who Can Play From Pune Team?

It is quiet possible that players from current team of Maharashtra can play for IPL Pune team. Even Yuvraj’s name is into discussion and people can expect him to be Icon Player of Pune cricket team. Despite the availability of biggies, there are some good cricketers in Maharashtra State team that can be part of Pune IPL team.

Domestic cricket history – Duleep Trophy

In the memory of K.S.Duleepsinhji (who like his uncle Ranji was an Indian but had played all his cricket in England) BCCI started this series after noticing that Ranji Trophy actually helped to generate potential cricketers. Duleep trophy was also  meant to strengthen competition around the domestic circuit. Five zones – North, East, Central, West and South participated in the first season  in 1961-62. Till date 44 seasons have been served. Duleep Trophy is special because selection of team Indian’s test squad also depends on player’s performance in this series. (more…)
