England team celebrates t20 world cup winAfter finals of 1979, 1987, 1992 and Champions Trophy Finals in 2004, England has finally tasted what they never got a chance of, despite devising the game of Cricket.  They beat World Champions Australia to win their first ever world title and a T20 world cup victory.Ten months ago England made a humiliating exit from the Twenty20 World Cup with a defeat to cricketing minnows Netherlands at Lord’s. Here in the Caribbean though, the team has cruised to victories and finally reached pinnacle today at Barbados. Everything was falling by their side. Captain made right moves, made intelligent bowling changes and their batsmen scored when it was required. With series of wins in Super-8m England can finally call themselves  World Champions.

yardystopsball1605_bKey to the game was team performance. Fielding, bowling and bating was as crisp as it should have been. Craig Kieswetter, a newbie to England’s squad have made an impressive cut. A 22 year old made match winning 63 runs before weirdly getting out to M. Johnson. He along with Pieterson made heavenly 111 runs partnership that dragged England in the champion’s seat. After Johnson sent Kieswetter in the pavilion and gave away just 2 runs in the over, it was once seemed as if Australia will make a come back. However, lack of to the point bowling kept them away from the trophy. Immediately after Johnson’s over, Aus. gone for 11 runs. Paul Collingwood attacked Watson like a hungry lion. The moment he got the strike, England won in 3 deliveries. 6-4-4 in the 17th over and England clinched most illustrious victory in country’s history. It is their first world title and they way team reacted to the win certainly showed the craving the kept accumulating for years.

After the experienced Collingwood at four comes the most specialized Twenty20 batsman in the England team – Eoin Morgan, born and bred in Dublin and a member of the Ireland World Cup team in the West Indies three years ago. His hit a 6 at crucial moment and saved England from getting into the pressure. sidebottom1605_b

On the bowling side, England have got to grips with the tactics and variations of speed and length that are needed to keep opposition batsmen thinking. Yorkshireman Tim Bresnan is the best example of a ‘thinking’ Twenty20 bowler while Stuart Broad and Ryan Sidebottom have avoided the predictability that can harm more traditional bowlers in this format.

On the other hand, Australia made a disastrous start in their maiden final of a Twenty20 World Cup after being put in to bat. The Aussies lost three wickets for just eight runs in 2.1 overs before Hussey’s 54-ball effort took them to a fighting total.

Indeed, As a viewer I was happy to see the England winning after putting  lot of efforts in the game. To exactly see what this win means to England’s team, go to Google and try searching for England cricket team world cup win , all you will see is England’s women team winning the world title. After cricket over does, indeed the deserving has won the title and I am sure as a cricket lover, you will also be happy to see England winning the T20 World Cup 2010.

Yes it was an important win for England, it’s hard to believe that Aussies lost it in final but credit must be given where it is due, England was clinical in all three departments and deserves to win a world title. England win is great but Aussie loss is even greater achievement.
