IPL In Numbers

IPL action over 45 days in 60 matches witnessed many new records. There were total 1708 fours and 585 sixes i.e. in all ball crossed the boundary line 2293 times. Sachin Tendulkar won the orange cap by scoring 618 runs in 15 games and P. Ojha won the purple cap by taking 21 wickets in 16 games. 4 centuries were scored in IPL-2010. Highest individual score is 127 by Murali Vijay. Highest team total is 246 runs scored by Chennai against Rajasthan.

  • Tendulkar won the Man of the match award 4 times in IPL-2010. Kallis and Symonds won it thrice. Dhoni, Gambhir, Ganguly, Pitersen, Pathan, Pollard, Murali Vijay, Tiwary and Raina won it twice.
  • Kallis was the best all rounder of the tournament he scored 572 runs and tool 11 wickets in 16 games.
  • Andrew Symonds was awarded as king of catches. He took total 12 catches in 15 games.
  • Praveen Kumar took the only Hat-trick of IPL-3 against Rajasthan.
  • Robin Uthappa scored fastest fifty of IPL-2010. He scored 50 in just 19 balls agaist Punjab.
  • Yusuf Pathan scored fastest hundred of IPL-2010. He scored 100 in just 37 balls against Mumbai..
  • Murali Vijay (127) and Yusuf Pathan (100) scored their second half centuries (51-100 runs) in just 16 balls.
  • Gayle and Tiwary scored 33 runs in an over bowled by Bopara – a record for most runs scored in single over in IPL or most runs conceded in single over .
  • The three best partnership of IPL are by Chennai batsmen. Raina featured in two big partnerships. Murali Vijay scored 152 for 3rd wicket with Morkel against Rajasthan. Raina and Badrinath scored 142 against Mumbai and Raina and Vijay scored 137 against Kolkata.
  • Team Mumabi conceded maximum extras in an inning. They conceded 21 runs against Punjab.
  • Maximum aggregate runs were scored in match between Chennai (246) and Rajasthan (223). Total 469 runs were scored in a match.
  • Minimum aggregare runs were scored in 3rd place match between Bangalore (86) and Hyderabad (82). Only 168 runs were scored in that match.
