Punjab’s Rough Patch Continues as Bangalore Grabs Victory

pietersen's 66 Vs KXIPSpecial innings from Pietersen and Uthappa helped Bangalore (RCB) to grab their 5th win in the IPL 2010 season. Kevin Pietersen’s composed unbeaten 66 anchored a narrow six-wicket victory as Punjab plummeted to a new low at Mohali on Friday. Bangalore today cleared the defeat gloom after losing out to Chennai in earlier match.  Bangalore after a shaky start managed to put a great fight. Uthappa played extraordinary innings. He hit 25 runs to B. Lee in a single over. His innings changed the course of this match. Without his innings, Bangalore’s chances of winning this match were bleak.

Punjab’s dry run continues as they failed to pick some important catches and showed poor fielding performance. Somehow fielding, batting or bowling is putting Punjab down every time. Apart from that there is an air of controversy flowing in the dressing room of Punjab as Sangakara and Yuvi keeps the distance. Perhaps the absence of unity is damaging the team’s performance.

In the first inning, Ravi Bopara put across unbeaten 42 off 33 balls while Yuvraj Singh showed signs of a return to form with a fluent 20-ball 36 as Kings posted a defendable 181-5. Even in the earlier match, Kolkata managed to grab the victory at exactly the same score.

Yuvi was loudly welcomed at the home ground and he also in return gave out 36-run burst. But finally, it was Uthappa’s 8-balls 22-runs that rudely snatched a victory from KXIP’s hands.
