After a pathetic performance in all three super-8 games they deserve nothing but a return ticket. At moments they were outclassed by others but most of the times they underperformed. After a game against South Africa in group stage they were considered as one of the potential candidates for world title. But they could not repeat their performance in later stages.
After two consecutive losses they still had a chance to reach semis had they beaten Lanka by 20 runs but they could not. Forget about win by 20 runs team India could not win it by even 2 runs. When Lanka needed 3 of last ball Mr. Nehra – the spearhead of our bowling attack was hit for a six.
In my opinion they did not lost the game because they failed to defend the total, they lost it because they could not capitalize on a good start. In first 10 overs India scored 90 runs at a loss of one wicket and in next 10 overs they could manage only 73 runs. On the other hand Lanka in first 10 overs scored 58 runs and gathered 108 in last 10.
Dhoni mentioned that – batting is our strength but it let us down. I would like to ask did they even consider bowling and fielding in their plans. Fielding was substandard; they dropped catches, missed run out opportunities, leaked to many runs and even let ball pass through their legs. Bowling was not great either Harbhajan was their best bowler but he never struck and is wicketless.
Certainly after an early exit of former Champions, many questions will be raised. Prominent among them would be regarding team selection, aftermaths of IPL, player fitness and fatigue. The blame game is unending and it will not correct the deficiencies. What they need is introspection and better physical and mental preparation. More on this in coming days.
In my opinion, they lost because they did want to win. I never saw such a negative body language by the skipper and Yuvraj secifically. People are even talking to change entire team. Now that’s not a solution, neither Indian team is manchesterised
But, I really feel player lack hunger for the game and victory. Reason is simple, IPL is pouring money in their pockets.

In my opinion ,too much cricket is responsible for India’s early exit from last two T20 world cup. I will back indian players , They are not machines to play cricket continuosly .BCCI should arrange cricket schedule such that there should be atleast 15 -20 days gap between two tournaments so that players will get enough rest and they will fresh to play.
And one more point selection of players should be based on consistant performance in domestic cricket and not on basis of IPL.
IPL is not of International standard ,some of the players are performing very well in IPL but not at international level.
Dhoni also made some mistakes in match against Srilanka ,he was not the same Indian captain which we used to see in last 3 years .He stick with herbhajan though he is giving 10 rpo , better he should use Vinay Kumar and Nehra who were the strike bowler for India in that match
Anyway we should back our players and proper cricketing schedule should be made
